The 7 Absolute Coziest Magazines In The Land
These are, in fact, the 7 absolute coziest magazines in the land. It’s scientific. ARE YOU CRAVING A SIMPLE AND HYGGE MAGAZINE IN YOUR LIFE RIGHT NOW? I WAS, TOO! THAT’S WHY I WANT TO SHARE WITH YOU SOME STRESS-FREE FAVORITES IN MY MAILBOX TODAY.
My snail mail was becoming stressful, so I unsubscribed from almost everything. I didn’t want more controversy and ads in my life, I CRAVED valuable mail that left me feeling good!
Then one day a friend told me about hygge magazines, specifically one she loved called Bella Grace.
Whoa!
That stopped me in my tracks. I scrolled through their beautiful Instagram photos, encouraging quotes, and simple but meaningful captions, and added a subscription to my wish list.
BUT WHAT IS A HYGGE MAGAZINE?
These things aren’t magazines, they’re books. They’re treasures that you don’t read once and then recycle or pass on.
The coziest magazines in the land magazines are bookshelf magazines. They’re coffee table magazines if you don’t have small children who will eat them.
They’re so packed full of beautiful photography, cozy lists, and lovely stories that will make you wish for three more months of winter. At least, the issues Santa left under our tree had that effect on me.
Intrigued, I researched more cozy magazines and decided the world, or at least this little corner of the world, needs to know about them. So I’m putting pencil to paper and sharing with you a hygge magazine round up that will keep you cozy long after Christmas!
What’s so cozy about a hygge magazine?
There are three reasons that I think I’m so drawn to hygge magazines.
- The content
Bella Grace states that one type on content found in their magazine are known as “listicles” and that makes my list-making heart sing!
In one issue alone is a list of unexpected sources of coziness and cozy playlists. And these aren’t miniscule top ten lists by any means. These lists are extensive, cover multiple pages, and are often submitted by readers.
The content is seasonal. The articles and photography matches the season it’s published, which makes for cozy reading in the summertime as well as winter.
- The photography
As someone who loves taking cozy photos of candles, knitting, coffee, and books, I’m head over heels for the photos I’m coming across throughout the pages.
The baked bread in these pages look tastier than anything I’ve had in all my life.
I’m finding inspiration for my home, my crafting, and my own photography. And who knows, maybe one day I’ll open the pages and find one of my own photos inside!
- The writers
A lot of times, readers like you and me are the ones submitting entire articles or lists to small and independent hygge magazines.
It makes sense. The staff listed inside the cover is much smaller than at Better Homes and Gardens.
They rely on story submissions. I particularly love that I’m being exposed to likeminded cozy lovers who I can find out more about, whether it’s a blog, more photography, or an Instagram account.
