Can you relate to this?

When I was pregnant with my third baby, I was finishing up a sweater for myself. I’d been working on it all winter long, and was so excited to finally wear it post-baby. You know, when I could see my toes again!

Suddenly, I ran out of yarn halfway through my second sleeve!

I checked my gauge, which was still on. So I headed back online and ordered another skein of yarn with a different lot number. I didn’t even care about that, I just wanted to bind this thing off!

My yarn arrived, I finished the sweater, and ran to the bathroom to try it on.

It was my first handknit sweater.

You guys, when I tell you that real tears were shed, it wasn’t all from the pregnancy hormones.

This thing looked like a mumu. Heck, I looked like 2004 Mary Kate Olsen swimming in this rose colored sweater.

So, what happened?

How did I knit a sweater two sizes too big? Pregnancy brain.

See, while I was pregnant and picking out the sweater kit, I somehow measured myself correctly but ordered the wrong size.

Which, if you’re not pregnant, probably sounds ridiculous.

Here’s the thing: pregnancy brain is real. It pops up at the most random, vulnerable times, like when we’re ordering yarn.

Now, I’ve birthed a bunch of babies, and I’ve seen pregnancy brain knitting pop up a whole lot.
