Ep 003: How to Save Money on Yarn

Sharing is caring!

Mama Llama Knitting Podcast episode 003

Mama, do you know all the ways you can save money on yarn?

Do you wish you were able to buy more yarn?

Specifically, more of the “good” yarn?

As moms, we also have to budget for our (sometimes very expensive) kids and other bills.

We feel a lot of mom guilt when we spend money on ourselves, don’t we?

But we’re much quicker to spend money on our kids! Groceries and swim lessons get priority over $100 skeins worth of merino wool.

Today, I’m sharing some of my favorite places to save money on yarn, plus how the majority of my yarn stash only cost $1 per skein!

Social media strikes again

Ah, Instagram. We hear it all the time, and yet it still can sting when we see what others have online.

But it’s so important to remember that we have all different circumstances.

That mama who just scooped up a sweater’s worth of yarn?

It’s possible she found ways to save money on yarn.

Maybe she got it on sale. Or maybe her husband works super long hours, and that’s how she can afford it. Perhaps it was sent to her for free in order to share about it online!

I’ve shared photos of my yarn stash countless times, and I’m always quick to share that most of my yarn was bought at $1 per skein!
